Publication Policy

The Journal of Multidisciplinary Engineering Research (JMER) is committed to publishing high-quality scholarly work that contributes to the advancement of engineering, technology, applied sciences, and related multidisciplinary fields. The journal maintains an editorial process designed to promote quality, originality, academic integrity, transparency, and responsible scholarly communication.

1. Scope of Publication

JMER publishes scholarly contributions that fall within the journal's stated Focus and Scope. The journal welcomes original research articles, review papers, technical papers, case studies, simulation studies, experimental studies, and other relevant scholarly contributions.

2. Originality

Manuscripts submitted to JMER must represent original work and must not have been previously published in substantially the same form.

Authors must properly acknowledge and cite all sources used in preparing their manuscripts.

3. Submission and Editorial Assessment

All manuscripts undergo an initial editorial assessment to determine their suitability for the journal.

The Editorial Board considers factors including:

  • Relevance to the journal's scope.
  • Originality and significance.
  • Technical and scientific quality.
  • Adequacy of methodology.
  • Clarity of presentation.
  • Compliance with the journal's author guidelines.
  • Compliance with research and publication ethics.

Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's basic requirements may be returned to the authors or declined before peer review.

4. Peer Review

Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial assessment are normally subjected to peer review by qualified reviewers with relevant expertise.

JMER normally follows a structured double-anonymous peer-review process, where practicable.

The peer-review process assists the Editorial Board in assessing the quality, validity, originality, and contribution of submitted research.

5. Editorial Decisions

Based on the editorial assessment and peer-review reports, a manuscript may be:

  • Accepted for publication.
  • Accepted subject to minor revisions.
  • Returned for major revision and further consideration.
  • Rejected.

The final editorial decision rests with the appropriate editor or Editorial Board.

6. Revision of Manuscripts

Where revisions are requested, authors are expected to respond appropriately to reviewers' comments and submit a revised manuscript within the period specified by the Editorial Office.

A revised manuscript may be returned to the original reviewers or subjected to additional editorial assessment.

7. Publication Ethics

JMER does not tolerate plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, inappropriate authorship practices, citation manipulation, or other forms of academic and publication misconduct.

All authors are expected to comply with the journal's Plagiarism Policy, Publishing Ethics Statement, Generative AI Policy, and other applicable journal policies.

8. Authorship

All individuals listed as authors should have made a significant contribution to the research and manuscript.

Authors should agree on the authorship and order of authors before submission.

Any authorship dispute should be resolved by the authors and, where necessary, their affiliated institution before publication.

9. Conflicts of Interest

Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial, professional, personal, or other relationships that could influence the objectivity of the research, review, or editorial decision.

10. Research Integrity

Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of their research.

Research involving human participants, animals, personal data, or other regulated materials should comply with applicable ethical requirements and obtain appropriate approvals where necessary.

11. Artificial Intelligence

JMER permits responsible use of artificial intelligence tools in accordance with its Generative AI Policy.

Authors remain responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and proper attribution of all content submitted for publication.

AI systems cannot be listed as authors.

12. Publication Charges

Where applicable, Article Processing Charges and other publication-related fees will be communicated to authors in accordance with the journal's Article Processing Charges Policy.

Payment of a publication charge does not guarantee acceptance or influence the editorial decision.

13. Corrections and Retractions

JMER is committed to maintaining an accurate scholarly record.

Where errors or concerns are identified after publication, the journal may issue a correction, erratum, or corrigendum. Where serious problems affect the reliability or integrity of a published article, the journal may consider retraction in accordance with its Retraction and Withdrawal Policy.

14. Copyright and Licensing

Copyright and licensing arrangements for published articles shall be governed by the journal's Copyright and Licensing Policy and the applicable licence associated with each article.

15. Right to Reject or Withdraw

The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject or withdraw a manuscript where it fails to meet the journal's academic, technical, ethical, or publication requirements.

Where misconduct or serious concerns are identified, appropriate action may be taken in accordance with the relevant JMER policies.

16. Commitment to Quality

JMER is committed to maintaining a fair, transparent, and professional publication process and to ensuring that published research contributes meaningfully to the advancement of engineering, science, technology, innovation, and multidisciplinary research.
