Copyright and Licensing Policy

The Journal of Multidisciplinary Engineering Research (JMER) recognizes the importance of protecting the intellectual property rights of authors while promoting the responsible dissemination and use of scholarly research.

1. Copyright

Authors retain copyright of their original scholarly work, subject to the publication and licensing arrangements agreed upon with JMER.

By submitting a manuscript to JMER, authors confirm that they have the necessary rights to the work and that the manuscript does not unlawfully reproduce copyrighted material belonging to others.

2. Author Rights

Authors retain the right to:

  • Use their published work for teaching and research purposes.
  • Share their work in accordance with the applicable licence.
  • Use portions of their work in future scholarly publications, provided appropriate acknowledgement is made.
  • Deposit or share the published work where permitted by the applicable licensing terms.

3. Licensing

JMER will clearly indicate the applicable licence associated with each published article.

Readers and other users must comply with the conditions of the applicable licence when copying, distributing, displaying, adapting, or otherwise reusing published material.

4. Attribution

Any permitted use or reproduction of material published by JMER must properly acknowledge:

  • The author(s).
  • The title of the article.
  • The Journal of Multidisciplinary Engineering Research (JMER).
  • The original publication details.
  • The applicable DOI or article identifier, where available.

5. Third-Party Material

Authors are responsible for identifying material within their manuscripts that belongs to third parties, including photographs, figures, tables, datasets, diagrams, or other copyrighted content.

Where permission is required, authors must obtain the appropriate permission before publication.

6. Commercial Use

Commercial reproduction or use of substantial portions of published material must comply with the applicable licence and copyright requirements. Where such use is not permitted by the licence, permission must be obtained from the appropriate rights holder.

7. Copyright Infringement

JMER takes allegations of copyright infringement seriously. Where a credible complaint is received concerning copyrighted material published on the journal website, the Editorial Board may investigate the matter and take appropriate action.

Such action may include correction, removal of material, publication of an editorial notice, or retraction where warranted.

8. Responsibility of Authors

Authors are responsible for ensuring that:

  • Their submissions are original.
  • All sources are properly cited.
  • Copyrighted material is used lawfully.
  • Required permissions have been obtained.
  • The submission does not infringe the intellectual property rights of another person or organization.

9. Preservation of the Scholarly Record

JMER is committed to maintaining an accurate and reliable scholarly record. Copyright and licensing arrangements shall not prevent the journal from taking appropriate action to correct, update, or retract published content where necessary.
